Reels are 15 or 30-seconds videos with audio and effects and tools. These short, fun videos can go viral, so why not using them for your business?

Instagram Reels are 15 or 30-seconds multi-clip videos with audio, effects, and tools. Reels can be shared on your feed, and if you have a public account, with everyone through the explore page. The videos play in a loop, repeating until a user scrolls away. These short and fun videos have great chances to go viral, so why not using them for your business?

This feature was released in 2020 and it offers various creations for brands, which can be efficiently used to build recognition and to connect with the audience. Who doesn’t like short, catchy videos? TikTok proves it.

How do Reels work?

Reels

Before you decide to start creating your own reels, check out how other people do it. Try to look at other brands’ reels and figure out how they use them for promotion. There is a Reels explore page, where you can check out the creations of the accounts you follow, and suggestions Instagram thinks you may like, based on your previous activity.

There is a possibility that you don’t have this page in your app, but you can find reels on your (normal) explore page, too. Also, you can find the Reels tab in every profile that’s been using it, just along with the “posts” and “IGTV” tabs.

How to create Reels?

Once when you think you are ready to start creating, open your camera (in the IG app) and just choose the Reels option. Different customization options will appear right away. Most of them you might already know, such as music, fast speed, and timer. You can choose if you want a 15 or 30 seconds video.

To add music, you need to tap on a “note” icon and you will enter in a music library. It is very similar to the one you already have for adding sounds to your stories. You can scroll through what is trending, or just find the song you have in mind using the search bar. You can choose between music, background noise, or your voice.

How to Use it for Your Business

This is a whole new platform for brands to connect and communicate with their audience. Sometimes you might find it difficult to think of video ideas, because it is mostly fun stuff, and you want your content to be in line with your business, but also engaging. So, we will give you some ideas you can tailor around your previous content.

Tell your Story

Tell your Story

Every business has its story and the reason why and how it originated. Telling that story to your followers will result in better connections because that is impactful content and people like it. So, why not share it through Reels? It will make it amusing and genuine.

You have to keep in mind that these reels are not about making sales. Just sharing a story that is (or should be) important to you, with your audience. You will have plenty of video options to do that.

Offer Exclusivity

Offer Exclusivity

If you want to encourage people to look at your reels, why not offering some kind of deal just through Reels? It can be a discount, a limited offer, a reward, or even an exclusive offer to get/view your content.

Also, this can be a great way to announce a new product/service or sale. Whatever you decide to offer, put it to your reels. That way you will encourage people not to watch it just then, but also in the future.

If you have set Instagram Shopping, this may be a great opportunity for you! You can actually tag your products in reels. If you put together a great video and show off your great products, you might be positively surprised with the results. The shopping will seem smooth with the tag just right there, in the post.

Show what You Do

Show what You Do

“Behind the scenes” content has always had great success with the audience. Showing your creative process, whatever it is that you do, will build a stronger bond with your followers. People will feel like they are a part of your group.

It will be a good move for the people who are not your followers, too. Letting them see how you do stuff will introduce them to your business, whether it is developing your product or service. Getting to know you better might lead to some new connections.

Show your Team

Show your Team

If there is more than one person in your business team, reels can be a great way to introduce them to your audience. Create a series of short interviews, with your teammates’ favorite songs as backgrounds.

They can say a few sentences about themselves, or even what they do outside their job, but you can also use this to show your products or services.

Show your Products

Show your Products

Creating short, cute video-stories about your products is a great idea. You can show all of its options or features, or even show how you customize it if that is the case. As we mentioned, you can tag them if you run Instagram Shops.

But don’t think you can’t do this if you are selling services. For example, you can show how you create your content or filming videos. Or even coaching. There is no niche that can’t be shown in a great video.

Educate

Educate

Everyone knows that “how-to” content works great with the audience. Now you have the opportunity to integrate it into your reels. You can educate people about your brand, or your missions and statements.

Also, you can show them step-by-step how you create things. You can share your knowledge about leading a business and help them with the things you’d wish somebody told you at the beginning. There are various opportunities to create it. And it’s a great way to show your expertise.

Share Positivity

Share Positivity

We all need some positivity, and on social media, it’s always worth sharing some happiness. Especially when everyone is just worried about their ratings, followers, and influence.

Reels are an excellent way to bring some joy and laughter to your followers’ everyday life. Create a simple video of something nice, it will be enough.

Instagram Reels can not just bring you new followers, but also refresh the way you create and publish your content. If you have fun creating your videos, your audience will have fun watching them. That’s all it matters. Let us know how you use Reels!
