Hey Everyone,
I work for an insurance brokerage firm and there is a lot of pressure coming from upper management to discuss the current health reform debates going on in D.C. The problem I have with this is that upper management has very strong views. I was just wondering what other companies are doing in regards to mixing a companies political views and their marketing. Are you taking a stand, staying in the middle or doing something completely different? Should we be creating content that speaks negatively to one side of the argument or the other (i fear this could be irrelevant to our audience or could alienate some).
If anyone has any experience in this realm or knows what other marketing depts are doing/ have done when there is some type of political agenda impacting their industry. I would really appreciate the help!
Thanks,

I worked for a big company, and we never discussed sensitive issues like politics. Especially something as sensitive as Health Reform -etc. I think politic topics should be avoided - especially in upper management. There is no reason for it - it just divides the company and you can't work together as a team. I think your company's (or almost ANY company) have more important things to worry about than politics with the state the economy is in right now.
